Pointlessness

BIO

My work invites the viewer to see familiar objects in a very different context, items that have been discarded and yet brought back together in combinations that would never typically be expected. And not only that, brought together in a way that questions their permanence and pointlessness, through the precarious way that they are balanced. Dynamic towers threaten to topple at the slightest touch. I feel compelled to worry about them, whilst also being slightly tempted to push them over. This is something that captivates me and I feel becomes part of the theatre of the work. Formally arranging the objects in to carefully balanced stacks allows the viewer to perceive everyday objects in an unconventional way, discovering new life in something once abandoned.
