The Forgotten Beauty of Natural Dyeing

BIO

After completing my BA(Hons) degree at Leicester School of Architecture and taking a year out in Cyprus for gaining work experience, I returned to De Montfort University to continue my studies at MArch.

My final year project is located in Frog Island, Leicester and it is called 'The Forgotten Beauty of Natural Dyeing'. The project aims to revive the forgotten tradition of natural textile dyeing. Due to the mass production of clothing nowadays, textile dyeing has mainly focused on chemical dyes that are harmful to the environment. To make people aware of such events, I have designed a 'fun' place where visitors can experience for themselves the whole natural dyeing process and in addition, learn about its benefits.

I am currently looking to join a practice and gain more work experience before proceeding to take the Part III.
