The inspiration for my ceramic pieces stems from a love of nature and a need to create objects that represent places of significance. In particular I am fascinated by overcast and moody British landscapes.
My process begins with an experience of nature that I attempt to recreate in ceramic medium.
To do this I make use of extensive colour and glazing tests to create pieces that evoke the strongest memories of nature and place.
I work primarily with slip casting, however my forms are hand thrown initially. An important element of my practice is combining traditional and modern ceramic techniques.
