BIO

My inspiration for my collection started with looking at old photo albums of my childhood with my mum, one common theme ran through my childhood and still in my life now, which was and is girl power. The girl power vibe came from my love of the Spice Girls when I was younger, from playing with my Spice Girl barbies, to making my parents watch the Spice Girls film 24/7 and my dream one day to become a Spice Girl. I knew this was the drive for collection inspiration. I wanted to be true to myself and do a collection inspired from something I love and am passionate about. As I’ve got older, Girl power is still something I’m passionate about, which has lead to me becoming very interested and driven by feminism, and the idea of powerful women, being the front of everything.

Overall my inspiration for my concept is based around women empowerment, showcasing strong, powerful women throughout shapes and silhouette. Free The Nipple was a big element in my inspiration, by using the tulle as a sheer fabric, to show the free the nipple element.
I wanted to use a mix of men’s silhouettes, and very feminine womens. For men’s silhouettes I wanted to put a feminine twist on it, by changing the fabrics and using one fabric throughout my whole collection, to give a stronger identity. I used tulle as the one fabric for my whole collection.
