Desert Blooms

BIO

I am a Printed Textile Designer with a keen interest in designing for interiors and wallpapers. I gain most of my inspiration from nature. For my final major project entitled ‘Desert Blooms’ I based my designs on a mixture of florals and foliage that could be found in a desert environment. I wanted my project to highlight the amazing life and beauty of these often considered harsh and barren places.

I am detail orientated and enjoy experimenting with new exciting styles, and through utilisation of a large variety of skills I am able to create innovative and original outcomes and prints.

I use large scale and detailed motifs which are successful with layouts for interiors. I can create intricate patterns using block and half drop repeats. My expertise and skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator allow the manipulation of my original paintings, creating unique designs.

Undertaking a placement with Nutmeg clothing allowed me to gain experience working within a design department and helped to improve my confidence.
