As a self-confessed hoarder, Hayley is inspired by found & collected ephemera and loose personal narratives within her work. She enjoys mixing the ordinary with the unconventional and uses the ceramic vessel as a canvas for communicating her ideas.
Within this project, she has taken her hoard of labels, paper & letters and cuts or "splice's" them all to make a new collage. Camembert cows head merged onto the body of a 1950's lady, saved from a Rome souvenir bag. Inspiration for these characters come from her interpretation of contemporary poetry.
Hayley has played around with the aesthetics of function used in a way to create completely unusable but decorative and idiosyncratic vessels.
