BIO

Architecture has always been a strong passion of mine and the last three years has been the biggest challenge I have experienced. My final year project was to build a ‘Building of Knowledge’ on a new ‘New Walk’ where, after looking into the history of Leicester and finding the myth of King Leir, lead me to link my buildings to Shakespeare and theatre.

The proposal of this project was to build a huge pedestrian route from Fosse Recreation Ground (a remote area) all the way to Highcross Shopping Centre (a busy area). On this route I have built a small kiosk closer to the residential area on Tudor road, providing a small place for the community and people using the route to gather and celebrate film. Further on the route, I have built a large film library, where people are able to gather and watch film/theatre outside of the building but enjoy researching or watching film inside the building. There is also a public café and roof top courtyard for everyone to enjoy watching outdoor productions or the views around site. The exterior façade of this building is made from translucent glass to deliver the architectural language of motion.

Another notable project includes the River Soar Health Station designed with a combination of ivy and solar ivy on the double skin facade. This station acts as hexagonal pods on stilts over the river soar, representing trees and enabling spectacular private views. Inspired by the previous floating pennywort problem on the River Soar.

My way of designing has always been creative yet practical, where I enjoy sustainable, delicate designs which bring together the community and help the environment. Studying architecture has truly enabled me to practice these interests and more.
