During my years on Contour Fashion I have learnt a wide variety of skills including but not limited to Pattern Cutting, Market Research and Grading. I have a full extensive knowledge of the full design process from start to finish including garment construction. I have a strong attention to detail and love constantly learning new skills.
The Power collection was initially inspired my visit to the Ozone bar in Hong Kong, the interiors represent an ‘imaginary world’ of natural structures imitated by man made materials. I looked at forward thinking Japanese designers such as Masamichi Katayama and Yohji Yamamoto. This enabled by to create a futuristic collection of combined sportswear and lingerie garments that push the boundaries for fashion forward people. Despite the muted colour palette I have used textures and tactile fabrics to provide different elements to the collection. Including, digital embroidery on illusion tulle, stardust flocked vinyl laser cut onto satin and quilted for the outerwear.
Finalist for WGSN trend prediction project.
Accepted for placement at Clover Group, Hong Kong. Where I learnt more about the whole process of an overseas company from sourcing to product development to final manufacturing. This really developed my interest in the sportswear market.
Completed placements at Fleur of England and Sparklewren corsetry.
