BIO

In school I always excelled at mathematics, I enjoyed the challenge of thinking in a logical and methodical way. I acheived highly in core academic subjects, but a part of me was always drawn to the freedom that creative subjects offered. My ceramic work is about bringing an element of logical thinking and mathematical visuals into my work as a maker.

This collection started with a visit to the National Space Centre, where I was inspired by interlocking repetitive shapes and metallic objects.

The shapes for my tiles were created by milling a piece of wood on a machine, before taking this into the plaster area to create a mould, ready for slip-casting ceramic.
