SECRET GARDEN

BIO

My 3 years in architecture school has given me the opportunity to improve my skills and gain further understanding in designing.

The Project-

The Secret Garden is a colony for ten potential wildlife filmmakers who are graduates of the two local Universities- De Montfort university and the university of Leicester; to support them in establishing themselves as independent professionals in an environment where they can learn about their craft, teach and share their skills with visitors to the Island.

The Island provides live-work units which are off-grid, self-build, sustainable units. The colony develops its own micro-economy through its biogas production, and the main source of revenue which is its wildlife film production.

Existing wildlife filmmakers from other universities and companies like Wildeye will potentially visit the colony to give seminars on the business of wildlife filmmaking.

The Island will be a major investment for Leicester city as it will draw outsiders. In addition, it encourages clean air which further supports the Leicester 2020 economic plan to create a healthy, thriving city.
